Youth in Mission
Since the first Encounter of Methodist Youth in 1995, a process of integration and
strengthening Methodist youth throughout the continent has been in place by means
of a series of Regional Encounters and other activities across national lines. The
Regional Encounters have made it possible for young people to share experiences
and analyze the reality in which they live together with young people from neighboring
countries and to develop strategies for action together which will lead to a strengthening
of the mission on both national and regional levels.
Today the structure and channels of communication are in place so that the process
will continue to line the entire continent through the implementation of the Youth
in Mission Project which was approved by the 7th General Assembly of CIEMAL in May
of 1998.
The objective is to integrate and train Latin American and Caribbean youth for the
Mission of being and making disciples of Jesus Christ in every nation and to point
to the Reign of God in the human situation of the region today.
